Samenvatting
The publication in 1991 of Guide Suisse des giratoires by the Institut des Transports et de la Planification de l'EPFL has contributed greatly to the acceptance of roundabouts in Switzerland. This paper briefly reports on the situation in Switzerland: types of roundabouts; advantages and disadvantages, and the first double roundabout which was constructed in Fribourg in October 1986.
