Samenvatting
The report deals with different aspects of roundabouts. The importance of roundabouts in Sweden and Switzerland has been investigated and an extensive study of traffic flow has been undertaken. Following a brief history and an outline of advantages and drawbacks with roundabouts the author turns to traffic safety impacts. The next chapter deals with capacity calculations, traffic flow, etc and a field study on traffic flow and delay is presented. Finally, the author discusses and presents examples concerning the aesthetics of roundabouts.
