Samenvatting

Peak-period and all-day service in public transportation are discussed with emphasis on light rail transit. Peak-period service treats each line as a separate entity operating from residential neighbourhoods directly to the central business district. Detailed aspects of service integrating including schedules, passenger facilities, information, and fares are reviewed. The organization structure successfully adapted in Europe to bring about service integration is described.
