Samenvatting

The aim of this paper is to improve a feedback control law which until now has been applied to manage two information systems in the urban context. In particular, the two systems, one individual and one collective, have been adopted within the area of 5T project (Telematic Technologies for Traffic and Transport in Turin) to guide users into the urban road network. The existing control operates with two techniques: prediction (or feed-forward) to anticipate the possible approximate equilibrium state and feed-back, to keep the state close to the equilibrium. The purpose of this study is to define an almost pure feed-back strategy, able to reach the user equilibrium even under big network disturbances (e.g. road accidents). The new strategy uses the concept of "travel time on hyperpaths" to reach the destination and aims at keeping equal travel times among all alternative hyperpaths for any node to each destination.
