Samenvatting
An experimental safe road crossing interval discrimination training procedure based on cine materials was tested by application to the total population of a suburban Melbourne state primary school. The results are considered to show that the training procedure utilising a counter conditioning model with positive feedback for safe responses and negative feedback for unsafe responses was partially successful in showing the desired effect during the critical first four grades. This opinion is based on measures of internal validity in a transfer of training experiment. It should be followed both by indicated improvements in the training materials and procedures and comparison with similar discrimination responses in a life setting.
