Samenvatting

Despite increasing evidence that occupant restraint laws are effective in getting people to wear safety belts and an extremely cost-effective measure for reducing highway deaths and injuries, strong opposition at the state-level has prevented passage of such legislation in the U.S. To further encourage and support state-level efforts on behalf of occupant restraint laws a study has been done. This report summarizes the activities and findings of that study.
