Samenvatting
Evolution designed us with a certain capacity to look after ourselves. Part of our genius has been to devise tools which extend the boundaries evolution provided but, in doing this we have become dependent upon them to the point of life threatening vulnerability. Part I describes in general terms what our tools do, how we have become vulnerable to them and what we might do to reduce this vulnerability. Part II will use these understandings to uncover cycling behaviours consistent with safety in today's urban traffic.
