Samenvatting
This paper shows that the criteria under which drivers can be required to take a breath screening test become extremely important when the results are subject to some error. Combining the data from two unpublished studies clearly illustrates the possibility of excessively high rates of false arrests occurring if poor screening methods are employed to screen randomly selected drivers.
