Samenvatting

Encouraged by the European Commission, the toll motorway industry, represented by Asecap, has been working for several years to elaborate a model of interoperability of electronic fee collection systems. With new charging schemes emerging in Europe, it is necessary to enrich this model. Asecap (Association Européenne des Concessionnaires d'Autoroutes et d'Ouvrages à Péage) and administrations of 5 European countries (4 Member States plus Switzerland) have decided to cooperate in a new project - Cesare III, with the objective to provide a contractual framework for the European Electronic Toll Service. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
