Seat belts and in-car safety update (1996-1998).

This issue of Current Topics includes over 80 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the testing and effectiveness of seat belts and airbags in cars, lorries, buses and coaches. Other items abstracted include publications on seat belt wearing rates, enforcement of seat belt wearing legislation, and injuries sustained by users of seat belts and airbags. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1996 and 1998. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) database.
