Seat belts and in-car safety update (1999-2001).

This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the testing and effectiveness of seat belts and airbags in cars, lorries, buses and coaches. Other items abstracted include publications on seat belt wearing rates, enforcement of seat belt wearing legislation and injuries sustained by users of seat belts and airbags. These items have been selected from the material added to the TRL Library Database between 1999 and 2001. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
