Seat belts and in-car safety update (2008-2009).

This issue of Current Topics includes over 70 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the testing and effectiveness of seat belts and air bags in cars, lorries and coaches. Other items included cover seat belt wearing rates, enforcement of seat belt wearing legislation and injuries sustained by users of seat belts and air bags. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database in 2008 and 2009. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
