Samenvatting

Some aspects of voluntary seat belt use are examined. The results suggest that the increase in risk-taking behaviour, as assessed by travelling speed, does not occur with seat belt use. Other aspects of belt use are investigated and vehicle class and age appear as important determinants of driver belt use. Belt use is strongly influenced by vehicle age.
