Progress with attaining the targets set out in the UK government's road safety strategy 'Tomorrow's roads - safer for everyone' is reviewed. This review sets out the steps the government intend to take to improve the safety of vulnerable groups such as young drivers, motorcyclists and those who drive for work. The initiatives are set out under ten themes: safer for children; safer drivers - training and testing; safer drivers - drink, drugs and drowsiness; safer infrastructure; safer speeds; safer vehicles; safer motorcycling; safer for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders; better enforcement; and promoting safer road use. The timetable for the development of a strategy beyond 2010 is presented.
