Samenvatting

Research aspects of the secondary and feeder road development program in zimbabwe are described. The program includes construction, upgrading, and maintenance of approximately 230 km of low-volume roads. The main research goals are (a) to determine when it may be feasible to seal a gravel road, (b) to assess the feasibility of an improved gravel wearing course, (c) to evaluate whether unsoaked cbrs could be used as design cbrs, and (d) to provide recommendations on new design, construction, and maintenance methods for low-volume roadsin zimbabwe.
