Securing of loads on heavy goods vehicles. An experimental investigation.

This paper summarises the experimental work and main conclusions of the industry committee set up to review the securing of loads during log transport. The committee have recommended some major changes to the department of labour bush code as a result of the experimental investigations. The testing included the dynamic measurement of the stresses, forces, chain tensions and vehicle acceleration.
