Part I of this report on eye-sight and traffic, compiled by a multidisciplinary official committee, deals with the medical aspects and principles of sight limits; deterioration of eye-sight; the testing of eye-sight; technical proposals for improvement of traffic signs, vehicles, and road surfaces; and legal considerations. Part II presents the following reports 1) The application of the Mesptometer for the testing of night driving ability; 2) Statistical research on visual acuity; 3) The medical significance of colour deficiencies; 4) The problems of reaction patterns; 5) Braking distance, deceleration, visibility distance.
