Samenvatting

The 80km /h speed limit for roads outside built- up areas is exceeded by a large proportion of motorists. The present study investigates whether a publicity campaign with or without selective police surveillance can have an effect on the speeding behaviour on this type of road. It can be concluded that a publicity campaign is very helpful in supporting police enforcement by increasing the effectiveness of surveillance on speeding behaviour and therefore, increasing their efficiency.
