Samenvatting
This chapter presents initial ideas about aging and mobility in the context of safety and security. The way in which compensation is defined and operationalized in a survey is illustrated, followed by a short summary of the empirical results obtained on the associations between the compensation styles of elderly drivers and mobility-related traits, attitudes, and lifestyles. Lastly, suggestions for intervention strategies are offered.
