Samenvatting
Two principles for determining the assignment of traffic to different routes on a road network are analyzed. The analysis is based on a mathematical model using link-chain network flow concepts. Three different road conditions are considered. The significance of the analysis to traffic assignment techniques, as used in transportation planning, is described.
