The assessment of prevailing mobility conditions for adults aged 65 or more has been studied in 8 European countries (A, Cz, D, E, I, Irl, Pl, S) as a part of the SIZE research project, within the 5th Framework Program of the European Union. In this project more than 14 institutions, among them research centres and older adults associations, have been involved. Qualitative, quantitative, and heuristic methods for gathering information were combined. In this paper we are going to describe some aspects of the project related to their specific qualitative methodology, namely the interview method and its results in Spain. In order to learn about and to understand these aspects, the points of view of senior citizens have been contrasted with experts' ones (technicians, social scientists/social workers, counsellors, politicians), both concerning the analyses of things, and proposed solutions that emerged from the analyses. This communication will more specifically deal with the experts point of view. Some aspects related to the expert's conceptualization are at issue and methodological hints are suggested.
