Samenvatting
The effectiveness of safety belts is proved in the light of statistics. Advantages and disadvantages of the various belt systems are demonstrated, and problems arising in connection with the obligation of belt application are discussed. Since the frequency of the use of safety belts greatly depends on their image and the characteristics of their users, the pros and cons are discussed.
