Samenvatting

This guide provides advice and information for parents on how to protect their children from birth to 16 years, when driving with them. Always use restraints when doing this. Children can be particularly vulnerable in a car, even when they are sitting in the back seat. When driving with children, ensure that they are always correctly restrained, even when you: drive slowly, drive carefully, or take just a short trip. You must wear a seat belt even when you are pregnant. Children require the appropriate restraint for their size: infant restraints (for babies); child seats (for very young children); booster seats and harnesses (for young children); and seat belts (for older children). Always take the time to get your child comfortably and correctly strapped in. The guide also contains a short list of telephone numbers/websites that parents can use, if they need more information or if they wish to locate the nearest approved fitting station.
