Analysis of traffic dynamics is made by formulating a simple traffic model, wherein the presence of an off-ramp is studied on both the upstream and the downstream sides of the exit point. The analysis has incorporated a simple weaving effect on the upstream side and a simple right lane back merge on the downstream side of a unidirectional 2-lane freeway. The analysis technique presented here can be easily modified for application to other multilane freeways.
