Samenvatting
In recent years simulation techniques have more and more been used in traffic safety research for the study of driving behaviour in relation to the traffic environment. After a general introduction of simulation and a review of several types of simulation, a technical description is given of the simulator developed by the Institute for Perception TNO; technical details of this simulator are given. Finally, the application of the simulator in recent experiments is discussed.
