A single wheel trailer capable of continuously monitoring the friction of roads at speeds of over 128 km/h is described. The trailer has two operational modes. The wheel brake can be applied slowly by a hydraulic device to obtain the peak friction followed by the locked wheel friction. The ant-locking device can be operated so that continuous monitorings can be made without causing uneven wear or rubber reversion. Test results are presented.
