Samenvatting

For many years there has been a debate about the advantages and dis-advantages of Britain changing its system of time-keeping to Single/Double Summertime (SDST). RoSPA, and many other organisations, have long supported such a change because it would reduce the number of people killed or injured in road accidents. However, other groups have opposed the change because it would increase dark mornings, and some argue, it may increase accidents. This paper explores the history of timekeeping in Britain and the rest of the World and the arguments for and against a move to Single/Double Summertime in the UK. (Author/publisher)
