Samenvatting
The main problem illustrated by accident data is facial laceration, and this study explores the relationships between the cuttablility of skin and laceration severity indices which have been used in the past to classify the injury potential of windscreen glazing. In particular the results, obtained in a simple dropping impactor rig on the cut depth produced by sharp edge impacts on a variety of skin tissues, are described.
