The dependence of serious sport injuries on weather influences was checked during 1965 till 1969. During this period 697 serious skiing accidents were put in relation to so called ''weather-phases'' (WPH), which summarize similar weather characteristics in groups. All results were checked statistically. So called biologically favourable WPH showed a significant decrease and biologically unfavourable WPH an increase in the number of accidents. An on-coming low-pressure area presented a particularly serious influence. Practical advice to diminish accident risks is given.
