Samenvatting

Major above-grade pedestrian systems (called skyways) have been quickly evolving over the past decade in the central business districts of Minneapolis and St. Paul. A total of 22 pedestrian bridges spanning streets have been opened, 100 are planned. Perhaps as important as skyway usage is the impact that these systems could have on land-use patterns.
