Samenvatting
A critical examination and systematic analysis of the accident situation is presented, and the contributions which can be made by doctors to the problem are discussed. Excessive speed is considered to be a prime cause of accidents and the severity of resulting injuries. It is suggested that doctors must advocate and popularise speed limitation and enforcement.
