Samenvatting
Rat run traffic is becoming a well known phenomenon. Measures should be taken to stop it because it makes the misused roads many times more dangerous than the main roads. The authorities of the province of Utrecht found that structural solutions have to be implemented. The problem has to be recognized at the design stage. Because of design procedures this will take time. Other measures have to be considered. Police control however is needed in these cases, and therefore structural measures should have preference.
