The small car in motor vehicle traffic accidents in Illinois 1963.

This report is an analytical study of the 1963 traffic accident experience of small cars as contrasted to that of all other vehicles. The number of small cars registered in 1963 increased 9 per cent over 1962. The annual death toll involving small cars increased more than three times that of registrations, or 28 per cent. Registrations of other vehicles were up 2 per cent and traffic deaths up 5 per cent over 1962. This resulted in a death rate per 10.000 registered small cars considerably greater than the similar rate for other vehicles for the year.
