Some aspects of the work of the Transport and Road Research Laboratory of the United Kingdom.

The development of TRRL is outlined and current work of a number of departments including the engineering group, traffic and safety group, transport group, and overseas unit, is described. A number of highway planning and construction projects are described which are likely to be of interest to highway engineers in developing countries.
