The aim of this paper is to describe the results of an experimental activity performed on the lubricants used in the diesel engines of several buses involved in the urban transport of the city of Naples, Italy. The results underline the positive effects of additives, showing the reduced share of worn metals in the exhausted oils allowing the improvements about the oil substitution scheduling, with all the consequences associated with pollution and costs.
