Samenvatting

It has been shown that the existence of an apparent motion effect, associated with certain flashing-light sources, is a natural consequence of a real motion model. It has also been shown that the temporal frequency response characteristics of this apparent motion effect are the some as those of the equivalent real motion effect. Therefore is the implication, for a restricted class of stimuli the some functional mechanisms may be used to represent both the processes underlying real motion phenomena and the processes underlying apparent motion phenomena.
