Sources and utilization of statistics tied to the issue of the highway traffic safety in Yugoslavia.

A brief survey of the road traffic safety information system from the point of view of history is given.Previous functioning of the information system has been observed through its subsystem for roads, motor pool, traffic accidents and for a man as a traffic participant. Based on the author's experience, some disadvantages are presented and possible solutions of key problems connected with the system and its subsystems in particular are discussed.
