Samenvatting

The introduction of electronic technology in the automobile has opened the driver to new features and new information systems, but at the same time has increased his visual workload. In fact, arguments have been made to introduce ordinary TV programming into the vehicle. With the ability of the electronic engineer to introduce more exotic displays in the future, it is time to reassess how much visual demand off the road scene the driver can manage and whether, display /control designs can influence this visual workload.
