Intelligent Bus Scheduling System (IBSS) is one of the principal areas in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), which has wide foreground in the future. As the fundament of IBSS, the quality of spatial database has great influence on its operating efficiency. Therefore, based on GIS technologies, some key issues on establishing spatial database for IBSS were expounded in this paper, which included: (1) logic structure of spatial database for IBSS; (2) functions of spatial database for IBSS (3) design of spatial database for IBSS; (4) map representation. While in the third part, four main questions were discussed: contents of spatial database for IBSS, organization of spatial data, data storage structure, connection of spatial database with subjected attribute database.
