A report of a study on the individual preventive effect on the criminal trial and of the serving of a short term of imprisonment, on property offenders, aggressive offenders, and traffic offenders, is presented. The main conclusion of the analyses is that serving an imprisonment of 14 days or less is inadequate as a means the prevent recidivism.
