Samenvatting

A project was undertaken to evaluate the role of the type of road and road width, roadside development, travel speed, driving experience and the sex of the driver on estimates of safety and travel speed. Presentation speed has the strongest effect on the subjects judgements. The type of road also influenced speed perception. Driver experience did not underlay affect the results, although the sex of the driver had a slight influence on the data.
