Samenvatting
Design guides are presented for operating speeds and service levels for one-way, multilane traffic on grades as influenced by trucks. The design grades are based on computer simulation supported by field data. The paper also discusses traffic characteristics and comfort and safety in upgrade flows. A procedure is described for using the results to forecast peaking characteristics in upgrade flows.
