Samenvatting
On first sight a train tunnel under The Hague town centre seems inconceivable, mainly because of the high costs for infrastructure. On the other hand there are many advantages. For Dutch Railways it means that only one station is necessary instead of two, a cheaper train services and the solution to capacity problems. For the city of The Hague a barrier disappears and because of that a better urban structure is possible. It is also an ideal stop for the High Speed Train (TGV). Possibly the advantages outweigh the high costs.
