Samenvatting

This deliverable forms the basis for all future work in eIMPACT. It presents the recommendations for stand-alone and cooperative systems to be examined in-depth in the socio-economic impact analysis of the eIMPACT project. eIMPACT, an EU-funded Specific Targeted REsearch Project (STREP), supports the EU aim of halving the number of road fatalities by 2010. It does so by assessing the socio-economic effect of relevant Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems, or IVSS, and thus investigating their impact and benefits on traffic safety and efficiency. It will further provide indications on the prospects for introducing IVSS, taking into account these impacts, policy options and stakeholder roles. eIMPACT is part of the EU's Sixth Framework Programme for Information Society Technologies and Media.
