Samenvatting

This paper was presented at the `Value-Added Pavement Design and Performance' session. This paper describes a major research project which first reviewed existing data collection protocols in the area of cracking, rutting and roughness measurements for flexible pavements. To achieve uniformity new and/or modified protocols were developed considering all available technology, practices within critical state DOT's and compromises necessary to combine automated equipment into a single vehicle. The results are being carefully examined by AASHTO for application in a standard way at the state level. These results should have equal applicability and interest for Canadian provinces and municipalities. (A)
