The state of the art of traffic safety : a critical review and analysis of the technical information on factors affecting traffic safety.

This report, based on a review of American and foreign literature and discussions with a number of research workers, consists of two parts, with a bibliography and source index. The main themes, discussed in detail in part 2, are human factors, environmental factors, vehicular factors, loss-limiting factors (post accident phase), and regulatory and legal factors. Part 1 contains a summary of conclusions and recommendations.
