The State's in the transit aspects of long-range transportation planning. Paper presented at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Highway Research Board HRB, Washington, D.C., January 1973.

The goals, which the urban and public transportation system is designed to further, are listed. These goals relate to the development of a system, which is compatible with land development trends, will meet anticipated needs, enhance the economy, increase the mobility of non-car users, reduce conflict with community facilities and environmental standards, and develop a unified system of transportation facilities which include roadway, bus, rail and air facilities. The responsibilities of the State Government in the furtherance of these goals are outlined.
