Samenvatting

Using data from various sources (traffic databases, police reports, weather stations, maps) and an accident analysis model, certain relationships have been identified between road accidents and contextual factors. Such relationships will be used to compare accidents in the context of a before/after study of a new ITS dynamic road lane management system because of changes in the road environment. These relationships also provide the basis for a real-time crash predictor for urban motorways. The problem of making accident data consistent with data from a second source, even when the first is discrete and the second is continuous is investigated. For the covering abstract see E134653.
