Samenvatting
Increased public sensitivity to the risks of technological developments - including mass transportation systems- has rejuvenated classical research interests in the meaning and role of the concept of risk. The paper summarizes conceptual problems in risk assessment, provides data on judgmental dimensions of traffic risks, and presents illustrative results from a series of experiments on the estimation of accident probabilities.
