The statistics are based upon a record of motor-vehicles which is kept up the R.A.I. through car registration documents issued by the Rijksdienst voor het Wegverkeer. Passenger cars are accounted for the last six years of manufacture (1968-1973), and commercial vehicles for the last seven years (1967-1973).
